Elaine opened her new Practice, Rise Osteopathy, in Forest Hill in January 2016. ‘Rise Osteopathy’ serves the local communities of Forest Hill, Sydenham, Honor Oak, Brockley, Beckenham and Catford, as well as further afield.
Elaine is the founder member of the East Dulwich team of osteopaths at Dulwich Therapy Rooms, having moved there from another site on Lordship Lane (Soup Dragon) in 2006. She has been an established osteopath in the local area for over 16 years.
Elaine graduated from the London School of Osteopathy (LSO) with a Bachelor in Osteopathy (Honours) in 1999, and went on to work as a volunteer for two years at the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC). There, she gained valuable skills working with babies and children with a huge variety of conditions, from feeding difficulties through to complex medical problems.
Elaine has a keen interest in working with women during and after pregnancy, and has completed several specialist courses on Osteopathic Treatment During Pregnancy. She believes that gentle osteopathic techniques can help alleviate many of the painful conditions women can suffer during pregnancy.
Elaine is passionate about the potential of osteopathy to improve the health of others and is continually looking for ways to enhance her practice. She is currently undertaking a series of courses in Biodynamic Osteopathy both in the UK and abroad.
Before becoming an osteopath, Elaine trained as a massage therapist and worked for a number of years treating sports injuries. She also set up a mobile service in Lewisham offering massage to people with severe disabilities.
Prior to her bodywork training, Elaine worked in the travel industry both at home and abroad. In her free time, she enjoys her yoga practice and meditation, Pilates, walking and cycling.
Over the years, Elaine has been touched by the support and loyalty of her patients, and is looking forward to offering an on-going caring service for local communities in Forest Hill and East Dulwich, and beyond.
